When is the best time to book a session?
Newborn Photography sessions are best booked in the middle of your second trimester. Newborn Sessions should be booked at least 6-8 weeks in advance as only a limited numbers of newborns are scheduled each month to insure I am free to accomidate them all within the needed time frame once they arrive. The best time to book is always before your baby is here. Newborn Sessions take place in the studio Mondays-Fridays, as weekends are booked prior with sessions we are not waiting for our subject arrival!
How old should my newborn be for the session?
Newborn Sessions are best when your infant is within the first 7-15 days of birth. It is so easy in the excitement of bringing home a brand new baby to forget or let the time pass you by but timing is really critical in scheduling your newborn session. I ask that all my clients let me know within 3 days of your babies birth to ensure getting you on the schedule within those first precious days of your new babies life.
Does the session fee include family/sibling pictures?
Of course! In every session, immediate family ( parents, siblings) in pictures are always included. Extended family is at this time not included in sessions.
Do I need to bring props to the session?
No need to bring a thing to the session except your newborn! Everything needed for the session to take place, is right here at the studio. If you do have any family heirlooms, or anything you would like to have photographed for the session, please do bring it with you so we can include it within your session.
Where do the sessions take place?
Newborn Photography Sessions are scheduled in my home studio. Designed for complete comfort for your family and optimal natural lighting to achieve the images you see in my portfolio, all materials and props needed for the newborn photoshoot to take place are provided at the studio.
Can you tell me a little bit more about your style of newborn photography?
I love to work with natural, light and earthy tones, without an overuse of props, giving your newborn photoshoot a timeless and organic look. I combine standard portraiture with lifestyle to achieve a unique and personal touch to your images. I do not pose any un-natural or forced poses with newborn babies. How long will our session take place?
Most newborn sessions are done between 2- 2.5 hours, but sometimes can take a bit longer. It is always good to plan for the full 3 hour session time. Newborn photography is very delicate in nature, so these sessions tend to take longer than all other baby portrait sessions.
